Deep tissue: the deep massage that releases muscle tension

Chronic tension in your shoulders or back? Deep tissue massage works the deepest layers of the muscle to relieve pain at its root.

What is deep tissue massage?

Deep tissue massage is a technique that works the deepest layers of the musculature and the fascia. Through firm pressure and slow movements, it reaches knots and contractures that superficial massage cannot. It is the ideal technique for chronic muscle pain and for those who spend many hours sitting.

How is it different from classic massage?

The main difference lies in intensity and purpose. While relaxation massage seeks to soothe, deep tissue aims to restructure: it breaks down adhesions, releases fascia and restores mobility to blocked areas. The pressure is greater, but it always works within your comfort limits.

Who is it recommended for?

People with chronic contractures in the neck, shoulders or lower back.

Those who work many hours in front of a computer.

Athletes or people with a high level of physical activity.

People carrying years of accumulated physical stress.

What to expect during the session

During the session you will feel deep, localised pressure. It is normal for some areas to be more sensitive; telling your therapist is key to adjusting the intensity. After the massage you may feel slight muscle soreness, like after a good workout, which disappears within a day or two. Drinking plenty of water helps flush out toxins.
