The first hours
After a massage, the body is in a state of relaxation and release. The best thing you can do is keep that pace: no rushing off to the next meeting. If possible, keep the rest of the day for gentle activities.
Stay well hydrated
Massage mobilises fluids and toxins from the tissues. Drinking plenty of water in the 24 hours after helps the body eliminate them and prevents that achy feeling. Skip the alcohol: it dehydrates and counteracts the relaxing effect.
Move gently
A calm walk, gentle stretching or a warm shower help the muscles assimilate the work of the massage. Avoid intense gym sessions and heavy loads during the first 24–48 hours, especially if you have had a deep massage.
Listen to your body
You may feel slight soreness, sleepiness or even a few emotions rising to the surface: that is the release. It is all part of the process. Rest, eat lightly and sleep well that night. The next morning you will notice the difference: a light body, a clear mind and that calm that stays.
